Pokémon fusion algorithm
Our Pokemon Fusion Generator works in 4 steps: name splicing, type merging, stat blending and palette transfer. Click any step in the diagram, or press play, to follow your current fusion through the engine.
Pokémon sprite fusion in the browser
The generator draws every sprite on an HTML5 canvas inside your browser. Japeal's Pokemon Fusion 2 runs on the Konva JavaScript canvas library, and its page shows the label Konva Image Resize Demo. This Pokemon Fusion Generator uses the native Canvas API with no extra library, so a fusion renders without any upload.
Pokemon fusion ideas
Pokemon fusion ideas fall into 4 popular groups: starter fusions, legendary fusions, best stat fusions and meme fusions. Pick a group to see 4 fusions, then open any card in the generator.
Starter fusions mix Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle and Pikachu, the 4 starter Pokémon of Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow.
Legendary fusions combine Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Mewtwo and Mew, the 5 legendary and mythical Pokémon of Gen I.
Best stat fusions reach a base stat total (BST) above 560, led by Mewonite (Mewtwo × Dragonite) with a BST of 645.
Meme fusions pair unlikely species, such as Magikarp with Mewtwo, for the funny fusions fans share on Reddit.
Pokemon fusion tool
The Pokemon Fusion Generator has 6 main features: sprite recolouring, stat blending, dual typing, name splicing, download and share, and private fusion. Hover over or tap a feature to see where the feature appears on a fusion result card.
Sprite recolouring
The Head colours are painted onto the Body sprite, with outlines and shading kept in place.
Stat blending
The 6 base stats follow the rule fans know from Pokémon Infinite Fusion: HP, Sp. Atk and Sp. Def lean toward the Head, and Attack, Defense and Speed lean toward the Body.
Dual typing
The fusion takes the first type of the Head and the second type of the Body, for 239 different type pairs in Gen I.
Name splicing
The first half of the Head name joins the second half of the Body name, as in Charigar and Bulbachu.
Download and share
Each fusion saves as a 384 × 384 pixel PNG image or as a share link that reopens the same fusion.
Private fusion
Every fusion runs in your browser, with no account, no upload and no software download.

Pokemon fusion FAQ
Pokemon fusion is the combination of two different Pokémon species into one new Pokémon with a mixed name, sprite, type and set of stats. Alex Onsager's Pokémon Fusion website made the idea popular with the 151 Gen I species, and the fan game Pokémon Infinite Fusion turned fusion into a playable game.
The Pokemon Fusion Generator works in 4 steps: name splicing, type merging, stat blending and palette transfer. Select a Head and a Body Pokémon and tap the fuse button. The engine joins the 2 names, takes the first type of the Head and the second type of the Body, blends the 6 base stats (two thirds from the leading parent) and repaints the Body sprite with the Head colours.
Yes, Pokémon can be fused together in 3 official cases and in fan-made tools. Kyurem fuses with Reshiram or Zekrom in Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, Necrozma fuses with Solgaleo or Lunala in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, and Calyrex fuses with Glastrier or Spectrier in Pokémon Sword and Shield. Fan tools such as this Pokemon Fusion Generator and Pokémon Infinite Fusion fuse any two species.
Yes, you can fuse any two of the 151 Gen I Pokémon in this Pokemon Fusion Generator, including a Pokémon with itself, for 22,801 combinations. Pokémon Infinite Fusion supports a larger fusion dex with every Gen II species and selected later species.
Yes, Pokémon fusions evolve in Pokémon Infinite Fusion: each half of the fusion evolves under its own evolution rule, so a Charmander head becomes a Charmeleon head at level 16. Fusions in this Pokemon Fusion Generator are fixed results, so select the evolved species to see the evolved fusion.
No, fused Pokémon from fan games and fusion generators cannot be traded into official games such as Pokémon Scarlet and Violet or Pokémon GO. Fusions from this Pokemon Fusion Generator are shared as PNG images or as links that reopen the same fusion.
Yes, Pokémon Infinite Fusion is safe when downloaded from the official links shared by its developers on the game's Reddit community and Discord server. Copies from unknown mirror sites can carry malware. Pokémon Infinite Fusion is a free, unofficial fan game that Nintendo, Game Freak, Creatures Inc. and The Pokémon Company do not support, and this browser-based Pokemon Fusion Generator needs no download at all.
